We want to create a Jummah  experience that is the highlight of peoples’ week, Ramadan programs that enhance their worship during the holy month, a compelling place for people of diverse faiths and a space where those who are normally marginalized are prioritized. 

To do this, we will be intentional about:

Decision-making

• The MAC at McDougall team will have oversight and decision making power on Khutba schedules, programming, finances and processes. 
• MAC’s chapter and administration will work to support the work of the MAC at McDougall team.

Finances

• All funds raised at MAC at McDougall will be invested in MAC at McDougall. 
• MAC’s head office provides media and communications, accounting and admin services to MAC at McDougall
• Charities and causes may collaborate to collect funds for other causes or projects.
• The MAC at McDougall team will prioritize transparency and publish annual finance reports.  

Engaging Community in the Process

• The MAC at McDougall team will develop a meaningful engagement process to identify values, guiding principles and imagine what MAC at McDougall could be.
• Feedback collected will inform the name, branding, identity and focus of work. 

Building a Team 

• MAC at McDougall will recruit a team that is reflective of the cultures, experiences, practices and lived experiences of the Muslim community that lives and works in downtown Edmonton.

Creating Space 

• MAC at McDougall will practice active inclusion and will focus on the needs those who are often marginalized
• All are welcome to join or observe prayers, MAC at McDougall follows and is guided by scholarship within the Sunni tradition
